A sex offender from Birmingham, Clive Mandivenga, who sexually abused a woman on a bus has been incarcerated.

Clive Mandivenga was incarcerated at Birmingham Magistrates Court after he confessed to the offence on the Handsworth to city centre route.

Clive Mandivenga, 28, was promptly recognised by Safer Travel officers and apprehended.

Clive Mandivenga, residing on Princip Street, Birmingham, has been sentenced to 17 weeks of incarceration for the assault that occurred on 11 November.

Safer Travel manager Inspector Ivan Merc said: “All sexual offences are traumatic and we welcome the news of this sentencing.

“All passengers have the right to travel without being targeted in this way and we’re committed to making our transport network a safe place for everyone.

“Our Project Empower campaign aims to educate people on the fact that unwanted sexual behaviour of any sort is not acceptable.”
