In 2026, independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers launched a public appeal offering a financial reward of up to £7,500 for anonymous information leading to the arrest and conviction of wanted fugitive Thomas Asmus.

Thomas Asmus, who also utilises the pseudonyms Thomas Webster and Thomas Collins, is actively sought by Staffordshire Police in connection with a series of grave sexual and domestic abuse offences.

Detectives confirmed that Asmus is wanted over two counts of rape and engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour. The alleged offences were carried out in the Rugeley area of Staffordshire over a three-month period between March and May 2023.

Law enforcement intelligence indicates that Asmus is originally from Leicestershire, but maintains active links to Staffordshire and is known to frequent the Burton on Trent area.

Crimestoppers announced the financial incentive to encourage anyone with vital intelligence regarding Asmus’s whereabouts or travel movements to come forward without fear of identification.

Alan Edwards, West Midlands Regional Manager at Crimestoppers, addressed the public appeal:
“Someone within a community may know where Thomas Asmus is, but for whatever reason may feel unable to speak directly to the police. Our charity is completely independent of the police, and we guarantee that anyone contacting us stays completely anonymous. That means no comeback. We never ask for personal details, and we cannot trace calls or online reports. If you have information about where Thomas Asmus may be, please share what you know with our charity. Remember, your information could make a significant difference.”

Crimestoppers confirmed that its secure phone line (0800 555 111) and encrypted online reporting form operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Phone calls are not recorded, IP addresses are not tracked, and caller ID is blocked.

To remain eligible for the £7,500 reward, information must be submitted directly to Crimestoppers rather than the police, with a unique reward code requested during the initial contact or through the charity’s two-way online portal.
