A Scholes Paedophile, Steven Abbott, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for the sexual abuse of a minor. His behaviour was regarded as predatory.
Steven Abbott, 45, from Scholes, Cleckheaton, received a seven-year prison sentence and was placed under a 10-year sexual harm prevention order at Leeds Crown Court on Friday, December 16.
Steven Abbott was found guilty of six sexual crimes, encompassing sexual assault and sexual contact.
The 45-year-old, Steven Abbott, was found guilty by a jury in July this year.
Following his release from prison, he will be required to sign on the sex offenders register.
DC Alexis Stansfield, who led the investigation, welcomed the sentencing of Steven Abbott for his “predatory sexual offences”.
She said: “He has put the young victim and her family through a dreadful ordeal, compounded by his then denying his guilt to the very end and making them go through the added experience of a trial.
“We hope seeing justice being done will bring some comfort to the victim and her family.
“All reports of sexual offences are thoroughly investigated by specialist detectives, and we continue to encourage victims to come forward to allow us and partner agencies to provide support and seek justice for them.”
