Patrick Sheppard, aged 19, of no fixed abode, Southampton, has been sentenced to two years and 11 months’ imprisonment at Southampton Crown Court after admitting sexual offences against two 14-year-old girls, alongside separate dangerous driving and drug-driving offences.

The court heard that Sheppard engaged in illegal sexual activity involving two children, both aged 14. The offences took place across two locations in Hampshire—at an address in Totton and an address in Nursling—over an extended timeframe spanning between March 2024 and November 2025.

Under UK legislation, all victims of sexual offences are protected by lifelong statutory anonymity.

In addition to the sexual offences, Sheppard was charged in connection with an unrelated road traffic incident in Southampton in April 2025. During that incident, Sheppard operated a motor vehicle dangerously, drove with a proportion of a controlled drug in his system exceeding the specified legal limit, and used the vehicle without third-party insurance coverage.

Appearing before Southampton Crown Court, Sheppard entered guilty pleas to:

  • Two counts of sexual activity with a child
  • One count of dangerous driving
  • One count of driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the limit
  • One count of using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance

On Friday, 2 October, the presiding judge imposed an aggregate custodial sentence of two years and 11 months’ imprisonment across all matters.

Alongside the custodial term, the court issued two separate 10-year restraining orders prohibiting Sheppard from having any direct or indirect contact with the victims. Sheppard was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for a duration of 10 years, ordered to comply with notification requirements on the Sex Offenders Register, and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for three years.
