In 2024, the Offender Database reported that Robert Court, the Darwen Paedophile Child Molester, will stand trial next year after denying 18 sexual offences. Robert Court, 32, of Newton Street, Darwen, appeared at Burnley Crown Court on Monday (September 16 2024), where he pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Robert Court is charged with ten counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, two counts of sexual activity with a child, two counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, one count of sexual assault, and one count of attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child.

Seventeen of the alleged offences are said to have occurred in Barnoldswick, with another allegedly taking place in Earby.

Robert Court’s offending dates back to 2011; the most recent offence is 2021.

A trial estimated to take five days was set for September 2025.

Robert Court was granted conditional bail ahead of the trial date.

The individual depicted is Robert Court, aged 33, and he is a paedophile.

From 2011 to 2013, he perpetrated sexual offences against two youngsters within a caravan in Earby. On another occasion, Court transported one of his victims to his residence and subjected him to abuse.

Court was in his early twenties, while his victims were between 12 to 14. At that time, he was known as Gyles.

The initial victim courageously stepped forward and disclosed the Court’s actions in March 2021. Our officers subsequently engaged with the second victim, who detailed the offences perpetrated against him by the Court.

Court, currently without a permanent residence but previously residing on Newton Street in Darwen, was apprehended and originally claimed ignorance of both victims. During a subsequent police interview, he acknowledged his acquaintance with both victims but refuted any allegations of misconduct.

After consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, the Court charged the individual with many offences, including rape, causing or inciting a boy under 13 to participate in sexual activity, sexual assault, and engaging in sexual activity with a child.

Following a trial at Preston Crown Court earlier this year, he was convicted of seven charges of engaging in sexual activity with a minor and two counts of inducing a minor to engage in sexual activity.

The court returned to the dock yesterday (December 10, 2025) and was sentenced to six years in prison. He was additionally mandated to register on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
