In 2026, detectives from Nottinghamshire Police launched a major public appeal to identify and trace a man in connection with an ongoing investigation into multiple serious sexual assaults committed in the Arboretum area of Nottingham.

Investigators confirmed that the suspect has deliberately targeted sex workers across the locality at varying times of the day and night over an eleven-month timeframe between October 2025 and September 2026.

The formal investigation was initiated after Nottinghamshire Police received direct complaints from two victims, alongside additional intelligence provided by two members of the public. Following complex case reviews and intelligence matching, detectives identified a potential five further linked sexual offences across the same geographic footprint.

To date, specialist inquiry teams have deployed plain-clothed surveillance patrols across the Arboretum, carried out detailed forensic examinations at pertinent scenes, and partnered closely with independent support services and outreach charities to ensure safeguarding provisions remain in place.

With no arrests made so far, police circulated video footage and photographic stills of a man believed to possess critical information that could assist the inquiry. Detectives are urging the individual pictured, or members of the public who recognise his identity, to come forward without delay.

Anyone with information regarding the identity or movements of the individual is requested to telephone Nottinghamshire Police on 101, referencing incident 298 of 29 October 2026. In emergency situations, the public should call 999. Reports can also be submitted with 100 per cent anonymity through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
