In 2022, Nigel Samuel Chudleigh Paedophile, a 61-year-old man, was sentenced to nine years in prison after being convicted of several sexual offences against minors, having viewed adolescent girls as ‘sexual playthings.’

Nigel Samuel, residing on Market Way in Chudleigh, was sentenced at Exeter Crown Court on Wednesday, August 24, and has been placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.

The court was informed that Nigel Samuel had invited adolescent girls for gatherings at his residence.

During sentencing, Judge Neil Davey, QC, informed Nigel Samuel: “The personal statements of the three girls have been presented in open court, demonstrating the considerable psychological harm you inflicted.”

“The situation arose when you chose to regard these young girls as your personal sexual objects.”

District of Columbia Tina Worthington stated: “Nigel Samuel manipulated his victims and subsequently seized the opportunity to exploit them.” The charges involved three victims, all of whom were young and defenceless at the time of the incidents.

I extend my gratitude to the victims for their remarkable courage in coming forward and disclosing this to us. We anticipate that this sentencing will afford them a feeling of closure.
