Mohammed Abdullah, aged 19, of the West Drayton area, Middlesex, was sentenced to six years and nine months’ imprisonment at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday, 21 August 2026, after being convicted of rape and sexual assault by penetration.
The court heard that the incident occurred during the early hours of Sunday, 6 July 2025, in the area of Undercliff Drive on the Bournemouth seafront. Abdullah approached a young woman and offered to give her a lift on his e-bike. After travelling a short distance along the promenade, Abdullah took the victim into a public convenience adjacent to the East Cliff Zig-Zag, where he carried out the sexual attack.
Abdullah left the scene on his e-bike, leaving the victim in the toilet block. The woman was able to flag down a passerby shortly afterwards and use their mobile phone to alert her mother, who contacted the police.
An investigation carried out by detectives from Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) identified Abdullah, leading to his arrest and the filing of formal charges.
Following a Crown Court trial, a jury found Abdullah guilty on 15 May 2026 of:
- One count of rape
- One count of sexual assault by penetration
On 21 August 2026, the presiding judge handed Abdullah a custodial sentence of six years and nine months and ordered that he be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
