Michael Walker, the Winsford Paedophile, commenced the abuse of the girl in August 2020, which concluded the subsequent April.

The victim reported her experience to the police in August 2021, resulting in the arrest of the 45-year-old.

Following interrogation, Michael Walker was indicted on eight charges of participating in non-penetrative sexual behaviour with a minor and one count of instigating a juvenile to participate in non-penetrative sexual activity.

Michael Walker, residing on Yellowhammer Crescent in Winsford, who had earlier denied but was subsequently convicted of all nine charges, appeared at the Crown Court today (December 2, 2022) for sentencing.

Michael Walker received a sentence of two years and four months in prison, along with a 10-year restraining order. A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was additionally enacted.

After the sentencing, Detective Constable Herminder Hira, who spearheaded the investigation, stated: “I am satisfied with the verdict in this case, and I hope it offers reassurance to the victim and her family.”

Throughout the inquiry, it was evident that Michael Walker is a sexual predator who exploited his victim’s weaknesses and demonstrated a complete disregard for the consequences of his conduct on the victim and her family.

I extend my gratitude to the victim for her remarkable courage during this investigation, and to her family for the unwavering support they have offered to both their daughter and the inquiry as a whole.

This has significantly aided the police in prosecuting Michael Walker and contributed to the protection of the broader community in the future.

I also hope this case motivates other victims of sexual offences to come forward and report them to us.

“We take reports of sexual offences with utmost seriousness, and all allegations will be meticulously investigated, prioritising the wishes and needs of the victim.”
