A currently working Paedophile Hertfordshire Police officer, Michael Grigg, has been incarcerated after being convicted of child sexual offences.

Sgt Michael Grigg, 34, of Hertfordshire Police, received a sentence of six and a half years at Harrow Crown Court.

A jury convicted him on two charges of penetrative sexual behaviour with a minor.

The police stated that Michael Grigg perpetrated the charges while serving as a cadet commander, and his conduct constituted a severe misuse of his authority.

Michael Grigg has been permanently registered as a sex offender and is subject to a sexual harm prevention order.

Michael Grigg, previously of Hatfield, was apprehended during an investigation overseen by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) and executed by Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Safeguarding Command, according to police reports.

Detective Superintendent Michael Trotman stated: “Michael Grigg’s predatory conduct constituted a severe violation of his position of trust in an exceptionally calculated and reprehensible manner.”

We commend the victim’s bravery in coming forward and enduring the ordeal of testifying in court.

“Michael Grigg’s absence of remorse during the investigation and ensuing trial has been astonishing.”

He stated that the force had evaluated its procedures in accordance with IOPC recommendations regarding the administration of police cadet records and is entirely compliant with the revised national standards.

Michael Grigg has been suspended from his position and will attend a misconduct inquiry ON FULL PAY.
