In November 2022, Michael Foster, then aged 35, formerly of Fishwick Parade, Preston, was sentenced in his absence at Preston Crown Court to eight years in prison after being found guilty of a serious violent offence against a person.

Prosecutors outlined how Foster subjected a female victim in her 20s to a severe physical assault before being arrested and charged by investigating officers.
