Louis Rumis, aged 82, of Farmers Walk, Everton, Hampshire, has been sentenced to two years’ imprisonment at Southampton Crown Court on Friday, 7 August 2026, after admitting 16 counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
The court heard that Rumis was originally handed a suspended prison sentence in April 2026 after pleading guilty to possessing more than 70,000 CSAM images, with some depicting children as young as six months old. As part of that conviction, the court imposed an SHPO with strict notification conditions regarding internet access and digital storage devices to prevent future offending.
Despite the court order, Rumis was brought back before the courts in June after admitting six breaches involving the possession of undeclared USB sticks, SD cards, hard drives, and computers. Following further compliance visits by Hampshire Constabulary officers on 8 July and 16 July, detectives discovered that Rumis had continued to conceal substantial quantities of digital equipment.
Officers recovered an undisclosed personal computer, an additional SD card, remote cloud storage accounts, and six clean-up and data-wiping software programmes described in court as sophisticated tools designed to erase digital footprints. Forensic analysis of his accessible devices revealed search terms targeting young girls, alongside undeclared user profiles across TikTok, Instagram, an adult site, and eBay.
During police interview, Rumis acknowledged that he had failed to declare the items despite being given multiple opportunities to do so, admitting that he maintained an interest in looking at illicit material.
Appearing before Southampton Crown Court, Rumis pleaded guilty to:

The presiding judge determined that Rumis had demonstrated persistent non-compliance with court orders and handed him an immediate custodial sentence of two years’ imprisonment.
