In 2022, Jose Ricardo Zamora-Ibarra, the Palmview Pedophile, a 35-year-old non-U.S. citizen residing illegally in Palmview, was sentenced to federal prison for acquiring child pornography and for being unlawfully present in the United States, as announced by U.S. Attorney Jennifer B. Lowery.
Jose Ricardo Zamora-Ibarra entered a guilty plea on December 14, 2021.
U.S. District Judge Randy Crane has sentenced Jose Ricardo Zamora-Ibarra to 180 months in federal prison. As a non-U.S. citizen, he is expected to undergo removal proceedings after his incarceration. Jose Ricardo Zamora-Ibarra was additionally mandated to pay $15,000 in reparations to identified victims and is required to register as a sex offender.
During his plea, Jose Ricardo Zamora-Ibarra acknowledged downloading more than 250 child pornography files using a peer-to-peer platform.
Investigators retrieved Jose Ricardo Zamora-Ibarra’s laptop and an external hard drive throughout the inquiry. A forensic analysis of the data revealed that the movies and photographs portrayed prepubescent youngsters involved in sexually explicit activities. Jose Ricardo Zamora-Ibarra stored child pornography on his computers in folders titled “preteen boy sex” and “preteen girl sex.”
Jose Ricardo Zamora-Ibarra was formerly adjudicated for the sexual abuse of a minor and subsequently deported from the United States. He subsequently re-entered the country unlawfully without permission.
Jose Ricardo Zamora-Ibarra will stay in detention awaiting transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be designated shortly.
Homeland Security Investigations executed the inquiry with the support of the U.S. Marshals Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
