Iain Fleming, aged 53, of Millfield, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, was sentenced to three years and two months’ imprisonment at Peterborough Crown Court on Friday, 7 August 2026, after pleading guilty to online child sexual exploitation offences.
The court heard that in March 2025, Fleming initiated digital contact with an online account operated by an activist group investigating child abuse. Throughout the exchange, the decoy account repeatedly informed Fleming that the persona was 14 years of age. Despite being aware of the child’s stated age, Fleming continued sending sexually explicit messages and transmitted indecent images of himself.
The activist group contacted Cambridgeshire Police, leading officers to execute a swift arrest at Fleming’s residential address in Peterborough. Following his arrest, police seized his mobile telephone for comprehensive forensic examination.
Digital analysis of the device revealed further offending, showing that Fleming had also engaged in explicit communications with another account he believed was operated by a 15-year-old child. The messages contained inappropriate remarks regarding the child’s body and requests for physical contact.
Appearing before Peterborough Crown Court, Fleming entered formal guilty pleas to two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and one count of attempting to incite a girl to engage in sexual activity.
On 7 August 2026, the presiding judge sentenced Fleming to a total custodial term of three years and two months’ imprisonment for his offences.
