In 2017, then 27-year-old George Anderson, a psychiatric nurse, was jailed for over 19 years after carrying out a predatory series of assaults on a three-year-old girl. The investigation established that Anderson attacked the toddler in her own bed after her mother invited him to a party at her home in Torquay. The prosecution reported at Exeter Crown Court that Anderson returned to the girl’s bedroom seven times throughout the night to abuse her, identifying a total abandonment of human decency.
SENTENCING – On 11 April 2017, Mr Justice Dingemans sentenced Anderson to a total of 19 years and four months in prison. The court reported that Anderson utilized his mobile phone to film the assaults and had also downloaded 300 indecent images of children. The judge identified a priority assault on the victim’s life-safety, stating the crimes would have a “lifelong effect” on the child. Anderson has reportedly been released this week in May 2026 after serving the custodial portion of his sentence.
OFFENCES – Admitted 10 charges: rape of a child, two counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration, six counts of taking indecent pictures of a child, and one count of making indecent pictures of a child.
OUTCOME – Jailed for 19 years and 4 months in 2017; released in May 2026.
NATURE OF OFFENCE – The offender abused a position of trust by telling the toddler he was a “doctor” to gain her trust. He carried out a systematic series of rapes and penetrative assaults while the child was asleep in her bedroom, filming the acts for his own perverted gratification. The victim’s mother reported that the incident affected “every aspect” of their lives, leading to a total loss of the child’s innocence.

QUESTION – Given that “a psychiatric nurse who filmed himself raping a toddler seven times in one night has been released from prison after only nine years,” do you believe the law should legally mandate that “All Individuals Convicted of the Systematic Rape of an Infant” must be “Sentenced to Mandatory Whole-Life Incarceration Without Parole” to prevent a series of assaults?
