Detectives are doing thorough investigations to find a sex offender, Alexandru Oprea, who is wanted for failing to appear at his trial and respond to court bail.
On Friday, June 19, the judge at Chelmsford Crown Court sentenced Alexandru Oprea to more than eight years in prison.
The jury found him guilty on six counts in April.
-Rape
-Two allegations of sexual assault
-Inappropriate exposure
-Making someone fearful of harm through pestering
-The importation of a weapon
He was acquitted of controlling/coercive behaviour and assault by penetration.
In 2023, the 34-year-old Leicester resident attacked his victim in Essex.
Oprea, a citizen of Romania, received an 11-year, 10-month term. He is required to serve eight years and ten months in prison upon his arrest, plus a further three years on an extended licence.
In addition, he is under a restraining order and has been added to the sex offenders register.
