Faris Suleiman, the Banbury Rapist, 19, of Windrush, received a six-year prison sentence, accompanied by a four-year extended licence, at Oxford Crown Court today (24/10).

A jury rendered a majority decision on 22 September, finding Faris Suleiman guilty of one count of rape involving a female aged 16 years or older, after a six-day trial.

On Sunday, March 30 of the current year, a woman in her late teens exited a nightclub with Faris Suleiman in the town centre between 3:00 AM and 3:20 AM.

Nonetheless, Faris Suleiman enticed her to a remote section of People’s Park, where he assaulted her sexually.

The victim stayed with Faris Suleiman due to fear, and they both returned to the town centre, where she sought her companions and recounted the incident.

Law enforcement was notified shortly thereafter, and officers apprehended Suleiman as he conformed to the description of the perpetrator provided by the victim.

Faris Suleiman was charged on 31 March this year and remanded in detention.
