In 2021, David Morana, the Fazakerley Paedophile, asserted that the 1,773 photographs of child sexual assault discovered during a raid at his residence had merely emerged when he was using the internet.
The 71-year-old’s computer tower and external hard drive were examined, revealing that he had also searched for “young girls” and “very young girls.”
A Liverpool judge responded to his assertion by stating, “Things do not simply appear 1,773 times.”
Chery Mottram, prosecuting at Liverpool Crown Court, stated that police acted on intelligence when they conducted a raid on the pensioner’s residence on February 13 of the previous year.
They confiscated a laptop tower and an external hard drive containing the disturbing photographs.
Ms Mottram stated that the earliest creation date for an image was March 11, 2003.
She stated that he had conducted searches for “young girls” and “very young girls” in conjunction with “porn” on the Bing search engine.
The court was informed that one of the photographs included a youngster as young as five.
Ms Mottram stated that 38 photographs of extreme pornography featuring adult females were discovered, along with recordings depicting child sexual abuse.
Experts also discovered peer-to-peer software on the devices for sharing indecent images.
Ms Mottram stated in an interview that David Morana acknowledged ownership of the devices but “denied any sexual attraction to children.”
David Morana has prior convictions; however, none are of a comparable kind, with his latest conviction being in 1976.
Carmel Wilde, in defence, stated that a “moving” and “potentially surprising” letter from David Morana’s wife had been submitted, in which she “extends her support” to her paedophile husband and clearly knew about his deviancy.
Ms Wilde stated that his wife had “persistent back pain,” for which she requires medicine but finds it challenging to manage alone, necessitating David Morana to handle all household chores and provide daily assistance. Reason enough to overlook child rape.
She stated that David Morana “exhibited contrition” and lacks comparable prior convictions.
Ms Wilde stated that David Morana possesses a job and a “stable marriage.”
She stated that he “recognises the implications of his role in perpetuating the market for such images.”
Ms Wilde stated that “events from his youth require attention, as he has not revealed them to anyone.”
She stated that he had found it “challenging to confront the disgraceful nature of this abhorrent type of offence,” but indicated his willingness to collaborate with the probation agency.
David Morana, residing on Grieve Road in Fazakerley, confessed to possessing 422 photographs of child rape, 464 images of child abuse classified as category B, and 849 pictures categorised as A, which are the least severe.
He also confessed to holding 38 explicit sexual photos.
His ownership of the photographs spanned from 10 March 2003 until 14 February 2020.
Judge David Swinnerton, during sentencing, remarked that David Morana has maintained a “full working life” notwithstanding his involvement in “some trouble” in the 1960s.
The judge stated that he continues to receive support from his wife, whom he cherishes.
Judge Swinnerton admonished David Morana, stating he ought to be “deeply ashamed” to “appear before the court for the first time since 1976 for an offence of such gravity.”
The judge stated, “It seems you have been viewing such images intermittently for several years.”
A court stated that there was at least one image depicting a “very young child” with “visible signs of distress and discomfort”.
Judge Swinnerton stated, “Individuals like you are why such phenomena exist on the internet.”
The judge stated that incarceration would have a detrimental effect on his wife.
In reference to a pre-sentence report, Judge Swinnerton quoted David Morana, stating he was “merely observing and they simply ‘appeared’.”
The judge stated, “Occurrences do not simply arise 1,773 times.”
The judge stated, “I categorically reject David Morana’s denial of any sexual motivation or arousal.”
The idiot Judge Swinnerton, even though he had been lied to throughout the hearing and acknowledged that he had, remarked that David Morana seemed to lack insight; yet, when he elaborated in the report, he was ‘cooperative’ and demonstrated a ‘readiness to engage in any requisite tasks.’
