In 2021, a Rugby pervert, Casper Smith, who had drugged a vulnerable woman before raping her, was sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison.
In October 2018, Casper Smith, then 46, was one of three men who lured the woman to his flat in Omega Place in Rugby, where she was subjected to a 45-minute sexual assault.
The victim, who was in her thirties, was both physically and mentally vulnerable and reported being unable to control her body during the attack as a result of being sedated.
Smith was apprehended in February 2019 after being identified as the perpetrator.
The police are conducting ongoing enquiries to identify the other two individuals involved, as Smith has declined to provide their identities.
Smith was found guilty of rape, assault by penetration, and two counts of aiding and abetting at Warwick Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday, June 29). Smith was sentenced accordingly.
