A Camberwell paedophile, Carlton Brooks, with a reprehensible online past exposed himself to the same schoolgirl three times from his window in a sequence of ‘targeted’ assaults.
Carlton Brooks, 57, was sentenced to two years in prison at Inner London Crown Court on June 20 after pleading guilty to two counts of sexual activity in the presence of a minor and one count of exposure, subsequent to a series of alarming occurrences.
In July 2022, a 13-year-old girl was going home from school when she observed Carlton Brooks engaging in masturbation near the window of his residence in Camberwell, deliberately making eye contact with her.
The girl informed her mother, who accompanied her on August 18 when Carlton Brooks attempted it once more, this time retreating before they could discern what he was wielding.
On September 9, as the girl attempted to return home without encountering a disturbing spectacle, she heard a commotion and looked up to see Carlton Brooks engaging in self-gratification while evidently trying to attract her attention with the noise.
The intrepid youth successfully captured a photograph of him, which was then forwarded to the estate administration, aiding the police in apprehending the perpetrator.
The court was informed that Carlton Brooks has a prolonged history of paedophilic inclinations, with convictions for producing obscene photos dating back to 2005, and a prison sentence for the same conduct in 2010.
Despite the court receiving assertions that Brooks had experienced abuse and was the sole carer for his elderly mother, Judge Matthew Boyle determined that the offences warranted a 16-month immediate custodial sentence due to Brooks’ prior criminal history and the deliberate nature of the sexual assaults on the same victim over an extended duration.
The absolutely mental judge stated, “It is unnecessary to articulate that 13-year-old schoolgirls, regardless of their attire, ought to navigate their daily lives without encountering men engaging in public masturbation from their property.”
“In my view, this case signifies an intensification of your interest in adolescent females, which the court regards with considerable disfavour. Had this been a singular incident, I might have been swayed; however, this involves three offences against the same teenage girl.” I must impose an instant jail term for this behaviour.
