A 36-year-old man from Wirral has been handed a nine-year extended sentence at Liverpool Crown Court after admitting to a protracted campaign of stalking, sexually explicit intimidation, and cyber flashing against six women.

Liam Pickstock, of Egremont, Wirral, appeared for sentence on Wednesday 14 October 2026 following an extensive inquiry conducted by Merseyside Police.

The prosecution outlined that between 2020 and 2026, Pickstock waged a systematic campaign of targeted harassment against six different women. Pickstock operated under the digital pseudonym “Joe Price” across social media channels, combining digital communications with relentless telephone calls, voicemails, emails, and handwritten letters.

The communications were consistently threatening, degrading, and sexually explicit. Pickstock repeatedly sent unsolicited explicit photographs of himself to the victims and escalated his behaviour by turning up directly at their residential addresses and workplaces.

One victim described receiving between 30 and 70 voicemails in the course of a single night. Pickstock accompanied these calls with voice recordings stating that he was positioned directly outside her home, demanding that she open the door, before sending further messages warning that he would be waiting for her at her workplace.

In a victim personal statement read to the court, the complainant described how Pickstock’s behaviour shattered her independence and personal security: “I feel like I have lost a part of my personality and the confidence I previously had.”

Detectives from Merseyside Police identified and apprehended Pickstock after analysing phone logs, digital account footprints, CCTV footage, and data extracted from seized mobile devices.

Confronted with the evidence, Pickstock entered guilty pleas to seven offences on the indictment:

Three counts of harassment – put in fear of violence

One count of harassment without violence

Three counts of cyber flashing

Passing sentence on 14 October 2026, the Crown Court judge designated Pickstock a dangerous offender and imposed a nine-year extended determinate sentence. Pickstock was ordered to serve an immediate custodial term of six years, with a mandatory extended licence period of three years under strict supervision upon release.

Under the provisions of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992, all victims and complainants connected to sexual offence proceedings are protected by automatic, lifelong statutory anonymity. Publishing, broadcasting, or disseminating any details, names, addresses, or photographs capable of leading to public identification is strictly prohibited under UK law.

Pickstock stood convicted of:

Three counts of harassment – put in fear of violence

Harassment without violence

Three counts of cyber flashing

Sentencing outcome and statutory measures:

Nine-year extended determinate sentence (six years’ custody and three years on extended licence)

Mandatory notification requirements on the Sex Offenders Register under the Sexual Offences Act 2003

Strict post-custodial statutory licence supervision conditions enforceable upon release from custody
