Jay Savage, aged 33, of Marsh Lane, Boston, Lincolnshire, has been convicted at Lincoln Crown Court after being found guilty of abducting a teenage girl from the street, subjecting her to oral rape, and filming the attack.
The conviction follows a six-day Crown Court trial examining events that occurred on the evening of 16 March last year.
The court heard the teenage victim was walking home through Boston town centre at around 9.15pm when she noticed an unfamiliar individual pursuing her.
Savage shadowed the teenager before approaching her directly and demanding that she surrender her mobile phone, claiming there was data he needed to access.
Upon establishing that the device’s battery was depleted, Savage insisted that she accompany him to his address to utilise a charger.
During the confrontation, the teenager felt a sharp object pressed firmly into her waist, leading her to believe Savage was armed with a bladed weapon.
Savage marched the girl through town against her will, taking a path that led past a local church, a former retail store, and The Range.
Despite the acute trauma of the situation, the victim demonstrated remarkable presence of mind by carefully observing and committing the specific sequence of streets and landmarks to memory.
Savage forced the teenager inside a residential property where he compelled her to submit to oral rape, simultaneously capturing the sexual assault on his mobile phone.
He subsequently escorted her back toward the area where he had initially accosted her, but retained possession of her mobile phone at his residence.
The incident was formally reported to Lincolnshire Police shortly after midnight on 17 March.
Relying on the detailed geographical description provided by the teenager and digital forensic work tracing the signal of her mobile phone, police officers executed an entry at an address on Marsh Lane at 1.45am, taking Savage into custody less than five hours after the abduction occurred.
The jury returned guilty verdicts on three charges:
- Abduction of a child
- Oral rape
- Taking an indecent photograph of a child
Detective Constable Charlotte Howitt commended the victim’s resilience, noting that her willingness to place trust in the justice system and recount the traumatic details was instrumental in ensuring a dangerous individual was held accountable.
The presiding judge remanded Savage in prison custody, with sentencing set to take place at Lincoln Crown Court on 27 November.
