Kristian Parry, aged 27, of Sissons Terrace, Middleton, Leeds, is scheduled to appear before Leeds Magistrates’ Court on 2 October to answer a fresh charge of fraud by false representation.
The court appearance follows Parry’s sentencing at Leeds Crown Court in March, where he was jailed for two years after pleading guilty to fraud by false representation and four offences involving the possession of indecent and prohibited images of children.
During earlier proceedings, the Crown Court heard that Parry had fabricated two employment references to bypass background screening protocols, securing a role within a Leeds children’s nursery.
He was employed at the setting for 10 months, working directly with babies and toddlers, despite having been dismissed from a different nursery setting two months prior in June 2024 due to issues relating to excessive alcohol consumption.
Following his arrest, digital forensic officers examined Parry’s Samsung mobile phone, uncovering an extensive collection of illicit media:
- 871 Category A images and videos (the highest severity tier, depicting the sexual abuse of infants and young children)
- 1,187 Category B files
- 3,263 Category C files
- 52 prohibited images
The revelations led to significant anger among families whose children attended the facility, with parents demanding reviews into how fraudulent credentials went undetected by administrative vetting checks.
West Yorkshire Police have now brought an additional charge of fraud by false representation against Parry, relating to an incident alleged to have taken place in June 2025.
Parry remains remanded in custody ahead of his appearance at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on 2 October.
The new charge is an allegation that has not yet been proven in court.
