Liam Bryan, aged 26, of Worston Close, Accrington, Lancashire, received a suspended custodial sentence at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 11 August 2026, after pleading guilty to making indecent images of a child.
The court heard that the police investigation commenced in July 2025 after officers identified sexually explicit remarks published from a Reddit account operated by Bryan. Following investigative enquiries, Lancashire Police officers executed an arrest at Bryan’s home address on 18 September 2025 and seized his mobile telephone for examination.
Subsequent digital forensic analysis of the phone uncovered multiple still photographs and video recordings depicting an acquaintance who was a teenage child. The media comprised close-up recordings focusing on intimate areas of the victim’s body, captured secretly in a social setting while she was wearing everyday clothing and entirely unaware that she was being filmed.
Appearing before Blackburn Magistrates’ Court, Bryan entered a formal guilty plea to one count of making indecent images of a child.
On 11 August 2026, magistrates sentenced Bryan to a 12-month custodial term, suspended for a period of two years. The court additionally imposed:
- A requirement to sign the sex offenders register for ten years
- A five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO)
- An indefinite lifetime restraining order prohibiting contact with the victim
- A 60-day alcohol abstinence monitoring requirement
