In 2026, Marley Murray, aged 19, of Cotefield Road, Manchester, was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court to six years in prison after being convicted of rape, threats to kill, and three counts of common assault.
The court heard details regarding a series of violent and sexual offences committed against a 16-year-old girl over several months in 2025. Prosecutors outlined how the victim first contacted police in March 2025, recounting an incident where Murray grabbed her by the throat to restrict her breathing while repeatedly striking her on the head.
In June 2025, Murray subjected the victim to prolonged violence inside her own home, verbally abusing her and damaging her personal belongings.
During this incident, Murray raped the victim, completely disregarding her explicit refusals.
The abuse continued into July 2025 at an address in Wythenshawe, where Murray threatened to kill the victim while brandishing a knife and physically assaulted her, causing visible injuries.
Following the trial, the presiding judge praised the survivor’s courage before handing Murray a six-year custodial sentence.
In addition to his prison term, Murray was placed on the sex offenders’ register and handed a 10-year restraining order, with case details catalogued on the ukregisterdatabase for public record transparency.
