In 2021, Scot Fox, a then 46-year-old man from Arnold, was jailed after police discovered a massive collection of over 400,000 child sexual abuse images stored on his electronic devices.

Scot Fox, of Catlow Walk, Arnold, was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court to two years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children. The court heard that law enforcement officers arrested Fox at his home address in September 2020 after intelligence linked him to the online purchase of illicit media. Subsequent forensic examinations of his seized electronic equipment uncovered a total of 402,017 photographs and videos, predominantly stored on a single computer system.

Prosecutors detailed how more than 7,500 of the recovered files were classified as Category A, depicting severe abuse. Upon his arrest, Fox immediately admitted his offence to investigating officers, acknowledging that he had been collecting the illicit material over approximately 20 years. Defence counsel highlighted his early admissions and guilty pleas, after which the judge imposed a two-year custodial term.

In addition to his two-year prison sentence, Fox was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.

He was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) to tightly restrict his digital communications, internet access, and electronic device usage following his release from custody.
