In 2021, a paedophile, Kyle Griffiths, engaged in depraved online conversations in which he entertained fantasies of raping his own child as a father.
Kyle Griffiths, 23, has engaged in “extremely disturbing” conversations with other perverts on WhatsApp.
Additionally, he employed the messaging service to distribute a portion of his abhorrent collection of child rape videos.
Clips of infants and toddlers being sexually assaulted were among the items in his vile collection, according to Liverpool Crown Court.
On July 6, 2017, the police conducted a raid on his residence in Middleton Drive, Prescot, in response to information regarding the uploading of indecent images.
His Samsung mobile phone was confiscated, and it was discovered to contain 47 Category A indecent images, which are the most severe category and depict child abuse. These images included 13 videos.
The files in question, as well as 41 Category B and 28 Category C indecent images, and 1,616 prohibited (cartoon) images of children, were downloaded between October 2019 and July 2020, according to Christopher Hopkins, the prosecutor.
Griffiths had also disseminated indecent images of categories A, B, and C on WhatsApp, according to the phone’s analysis.
The court was informed that on April 2, he sent a Category A video, two Category B photos, and a Category C photo to a single individual. Subsequently, on April 5, he sent two Category A photos and one Category C photo to a different individual.
Mr Hopkins stated, “I should also emphasise a conversation that the defendant transmitted… I will not read it out.”
He further stated, “It is exceedingly distressing.” It is a dialogue in which the defendant presents a narrative of raping a child as if he were the child’s father.
Mr Hopkins stated, “There are additional conversations that I will not discuss; however, it is reasonable to conclude that the discussions with other users do address very young children.”
One Category A video depicted the rape of a baby between the ages of four and six months, while another demonstrated the rape of a child between the ages of three and four.
Griffiths pleaded guilty to three counts of downloading, one count of possessing, and three counts of distributing indecent photographs of children, as well as one count of possessing prohibited images of children.
Jeremy Rawson, the attorney for the defendant, stated that his client had references from his mother and stepfather, who were in the public gallery to support their son.
The “extreme youth” of the children, the detail of Griffiths’ conversation, and the fact that he distributed Category A images to two different individuals were all aggravating features of the case, according to Judge Denis Watson, QC.
Judge Watson stated that the dissemination of those images was the “dominant factor” in his decision to impose immediate custody, despite the possibility of rehabilitation.
In the dock, Griffiths began to breathe heavily as he was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Griffiths was required to sign the Sex Offenders Register for a period of 10 years and comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, as ordered by the judge.
