In 2022, the Offender Register reported that Steven Walker, who was described as a “predator, ” had been incarcerated for raping a woman who awoke in a strange flat to discover that he had attacked her sexually.
The victim was unable to recall any events between the time she exited a tavern where Steven Walker, then 43, was rumoured to have approached her and the moment she awoke.
After the woman’s friends encouraged her to report her ordeal to the police, he was apprehended at his flat in Quinton Lane, Birmingham. In November 2019, the West Midlands police also obtained CCTV footage that depicted him leading her out of the pub on a Saturday night.
The force stated that Walker acknowledged engaging in sexual intercourse with the victim throughout the night following his detention.
He was sentenced to nine years and six months in prison for three counts of rape at Birmingham Crown Court last month. Additionally, he will be indefinitely included in the sex offender registry.
West Midlands Police expressed its “extreme satisfaction” with the outcome of the case, which involved the prosecution of a dangerous predator who exploited a vulnerable woman who was unable to provide consent.
