In 2026, the Offender Register reported that, according to reports, Pizza Express conducted an internal investigation into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s visit to its Woking location on the day he was accused of having sex with a juvenile victim of Jeffrey Epstein, 20 miles away in central London.
Senior management at the restaurant chain conducted the probe because they believed it was in the public interest to test the former Duke of York’s alibi, according to people who spoke with the BBC.
According to the broadcaster, the corporation had not found any evidence that he had visited the Surrey eatery, nor any evidence that he had not.
According to BBC Newsnight, there is no proof that anyone saw Mountbatten-Windsor at the restaurant on that day in 2001.
Virginia Giuffre, a victim of child sex offender Epstein, claimed that on March 10, 2001, when she was 17, she and Mountbatten-Windsor had partied at London’s Tramp nightclub before returning to Ghislaine Maxwell’s Belgravia home.
Then, she said, he had intercourse with her. Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied any misconduct.
