In 2026, Ed Giddins, of Old Rd, Magham Down, a disgraced former England Cricket Player, was formally interviewed under caution about attempted rape and sexual assault.
Giddins allegedly committed the attempted rape on a skiing holiday in 1986, organised by Eastbourne College of Old Wish Road, Eastbourne.
The sex attack was carried out by Giddins against a fellow pupil in a room provided by the private school and was reported, at the time, to the teacher on the trip, who dismissed the accusations.
Giddins was sent back to England on the day of the accusations by employees at Eastbourne College, though.
He allegedly carried out the second attack in 1990, where he attempted to insert his finger into the anus of the vulnerable victim outside Eastbourne Pier, on a chance encounter.
Giddins was also alleged to have carried out multiple sexual assaults at another private school, Saint Bedes (now known as Bedes) in Eastbourne, against fellow pupils in 1982, before moving on to Eastbourne College.
He denied all the allegations, and the case was declared as NFA after an investigation by Specialist Sex Crimes lasting over 6 months.
