A “dangerous” Newcastle paedophile, Mark Craig, has been imprisoned for encouraging the rape of an eight-year-old and a baby.
Mark Craig wrote to a man he thought had access to young girls, including a baby, detailing extremely sadistic communications about sexually abusing minors.
In February of this year, Craig, 56, continued to email the man sexually explicit pictures and videos of himself. However, he was unaware that he was conversing with a police officer conducting an inquiry.
And now, after a complicated police investigation by members of the North East Regional Organised Crime Unit (NEROCU), the 56-year-old has been imprisoned at Newcastle Crown Court.
Craig was detained by police in March and charged with creating an indecent photograph of a child, disseminating an indecent image of a child, and planning or supporting the commission of a child sex offence.
Craig entered a guilty plea to all charges when he appeared at Newcastle Crown Court.
Craig, a resident of the Westerhope region, was sentenced to seven years and six months in prison on Friday after appearing before the same court.
