In 2025, the Offender Database reported that Lewis Spencer, then 24, formerly of Birch Road, Congleton, Cheshire, had his prison sentence extended after being described as an “incredibly dangerous and perverse individual.” Spencer appeared at Chester Crown Court on January 2, 2025, where he was sentenced for “vile” acts committed against children, adding to a history of “vicious” sexual predatory behaviour.
The court reported that Spencer had been “callously” filming himself carrying out sexual acts behind unsuspecting victims. His most recent conviction relates to two “serious” incidents in Congleton, Cheshire, in November 2023. In both cases, he approached girls aged 15 and 16 from behind and engaged in sexual activity without their knowledge while recording the acts on his mobile phone.
A Pattern of Depraved Behaviour
Spencer was already serving a 30-month sentence imposed in May 2024 for a series of “depraved” offences committed while working at a fast-food outlet in Macclesfield, Cheshire. During a shift in December 2023, he was caught on CCTV carrying out a sexual act behind a 21-year-old female colleague. Upon his arrest, Cheshire Police discovered 17 similar videos on his phone, leading to convictions for sexual assault, exposure, and possession of extreme pornography.
Detective Inspector Robert Lees emphasised that Spencer “preyed on innocent and unwitting women” and was “surreptitious” in his actions. The “vile” nature of his offending, targeting both adults and children, led Judge Simon Berkson to hand down an additional 10 months to his current jail term.
Indefinite Monitoring and Public Safety
As a result of his “serious” and repeated sexual offending, Lewis Spencer has been ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely. He is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Cheshire Police, ensuring his behaviour and digital access in Congleton, Macclesfield, and the wider Cheshire area are strictly monitored upon his eventual release.
His “vicious” history of recording unsuspecting victims means any possession of a camera-enabled device will be subject to “serious” restrictions under his post-release licensing. Any further “vile” conduct or breach of his conditions will result in immediate arrest and a return to prison.
