In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Gavin Davies-Jones, then 36, of St John’s Road, Brecon, Powys, remains under strict supervision following his conviction for child sex offences. Davies-Jones, a “vile” and “vicious” predator, was found with thousands of images and videos of children as young as four years old being “vilely” abused. The investigation by Dyfed-Powys Police began in November 2023 after intelligence revealed that “depraved” material was being downloaded at his address.

When police executed a search warrant, Davies-Jones “callously” admitted his guilt at the door, telling officers, “It’s me, my life is over, I don’t know why I’ve done it.” A search of his black phone and desktop computer uncovered a “sickening” collection of material, including 297 Category A images, 234 Category B images, and 1,684 Category C images. The prosecution emphasised that the haul also included extreme pornography involving bestiality and moving footage of “vicious” abuse.

Despite his “vile” search terms—which included “pedo collection”—Davies-Jones “callously” denied having a sexual interest in children during his interview, claiming he deleted the images immediately. However, at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on 1 August 2025, Judge Vanessa Francis emphasised that he was someone who clearly possessed a “serious” sexual interest in children and was struggling to come to terms with that “vicious” truth. The court reported that the youngest victims in his collection were aged 4 to 6.

As a result of his guilty pleas to making and possessing indecent images, Gavin Davies-Jones was sentenced to 10 months’ imprisonment, suspended for 18 months. He was ordered to complete a 40-day rehabilitation program and was placed under a two-month electronic curfew. He must also sign the Sex Offenders Register for ten years. He is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Dyfed-Powys Police, ensuring his behaviour and internet use in Brecon are strictly monitored. Any further “vile” actions or breaches of his suspended sentence will result in his immediate incarceration.
