In 2022, the Offender Database reported that Gareth Harris, 40, of Pen-y-Bryn, Caerphilly, was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court.
Gareth Harris was jailed for one year and eight months after admitting to storing more than 50,000 indecent images of children. The court heard that Gareth Harris’s “addiction” was discovered by his brother, who eventually informed a colleague and the police about the illegal material found on two mobile phones.
Gareth Harris was placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years and was handed a sexual harm prevention order. Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke noted that while Gareth Harris expressed shame, his offending was aggravated by the extreme vulnerability and age of the victims depicted in the images.
