In 2019, the Offender Database reported that Peter O’Keefe, the Norwich Paedophile Child Molester, asserted that he attempted to groom a 13-year-old girl due to his lack of a PlayStation and boredom at home.
Peter O’Keefe transmitted explicit communications and a video of himself engaging in a sexual act, and endeavoured to persuade the girl to replicate the behaviour.
However, he realised he had been deceived by the online paedophile hunting organisation ‘Justice 4 Kids’ (J4K) when they met him on the streets of Maidstone.
A then 32-year-old married hotel kitchen porter was sentenced to 12 months in prison today, after a judge stated, “I have given anxious consideration as to whether I can follow a recommendation in the pre-sentence report and place you on a sex offender programme.”
However, I have determined that these acts are so grave as to require a more severe response, and only incarceration is warranted.
Peter O’Keefe encountered a profile of a girl named Charlotte. He reached out to her via an application called Kick on his mobile device, unaware that it was a “decoy” established by Shadow Hunters UK.
Under the alias Big Boy and purporting to be 18 years old, he transmitted a message on January 11 of the previous year stating “Hello sexy,” accompanied by an image of his genitalia.
Prosecutor Martin Yale informed Maidstone Crown Court that he participated in a sexual dialogue with a girl he presumed to be 13 and encouraged her to engage in self-pleasure practices.
In April of the previous year, members of the paedophile hunter organisation confronted Peter O’Keefe on Upper Fant Road as he was returning home from work.
The police were summoned, and evidence was submitted to the officers.
He stated that there was evidence of grooming behaviour and that O’Keefe, currently residing in Voxham, Norwich, Norfolk, misrepresented his age.
Peter O’Keefe confessed to trying to engage in sexual communication with a minor between January 11 and April 4 of the previous year, attempting to induce a child to observe a sexual act, trying to provoke a child to participate in sexual conduct, and attempting to compel a child to engage in sexual behaviour.
Peter O’Keefe’s name will be listed on the sex offenders’ registry for a duration of 10 years.
A sexual harm prevention order has been issued, prohibiting him from engaging in employment involving minors and vulnerable persons.
