In 2019, the Offender Database reported that Arfan Ghulzar, the Highgate Paedophile Molester, accused of grooming a schoolgirl for sexual purposes, had been incarcerated for violating an injunction obtained by West Midlands Police prohibiting him from contacting her.

Arfan Ghulzar was apprehended on 25 June of the previous year on the report of a 14-year-old girl missing from her residence in Birmingham.

Investigators uncovered that the then 27-year-old had been communicating with the girl, and during a search of his residence on Southacre Avenue, Highgate, Birmingham, West Midlands, they located articles of her clothing and unequivocal proof of sexual conduct.

Certain articles of her clothing were dispatched for forensic examination and, after several weeks, yielded a DNA match to Arfan Ghulzar.

At the time of Arfan Ghulzar’s arrest, officers lacked sufficient evidence to file charges, but they successfully obtained an Interim Sexual Risk Order (SRO) from the courts, preventing him from contacting the girl.

In the early hours of 21 October, West Midlands Police officers apprehended Arfan Ghulzar in a vehicle and discovered the girl in the passenger seat behind him.

He was apprehended on allegations of child abduction and violating the SRO, and on Friday (18 Jan), he was sentenced to 15 months in prison after confessing to the charges.

Arfan Ghulzar was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for a duration of 10 years, prohibiting unsupervised contact with females under the age of 16, and he is mandated to register as a sex offender for the same period.

The judge informed Arfan Ghulzar that he should anticipate deportation from the UK after serving his sentence.
