The Offender Database reported that if you are a foreign child or animal abuser, come to Britain if you are looking for low sentences, if caught. You will also be provided with accommodation and pocket money to help you offend.
A puppy was euthanised after its ‘sadistic’ owner, Leon Kramolis, the British Guest Child and Animal Abuser, inflicted numerous severe injuries, including mutilated toes, a fractured head, a broken jaw, and broken ribs, yet evaded incarceration.
Leon Kramolis was recorded on CCTV striking the little Staffordshire bull terrier, named Rex, around its head with a dishcloth and positioning a mug over its face and muzzle.
The puppy was discovered to have a fractured skull, jaw, and ribs upon its recovery.
Regrettably, it was necessary to euthanise it to alleviate the profound agony.
Leon Kramolis, 25, of unspecified residence now (to protect his anonymity), acknowledged two counts of inflicting unnecessary suffering on a protected animal and two further welfare violations.
At Birmingham Crown Court, he received a two-year community order and was permanently prohibited from possessing animals.
Judge Simon Drew KC determined that he had already endured ‘punishment’ while incarcerated on remand.
In late February of the previous year, Leon Kramolis resided in assisted accommodation on Nicholls Street, West Bromwich.
The puppy was estimated to be eight to ten weeks old at that time.
Sarah Pratt, representing the RSPCA, informed the court that upon initial observation, the dog appeared ‘happy and healthy’ with no discernible injuries.
They were just apprehensive that Leon Kramolis provided it with tomatoes and potatoes, prompting them to procure suitable nourishment.
However, they informed him that he was prohibited from retaining the puppy on the premises and that he must find it a new home.
Ms Pratt asserted that there was a ‘notable distinction’ between Leon Kramolis’s conduct towards the dog in the presence of staff and, moments later, when he was recorded on CCTV, binding a dishcloth over the puppy’s head.
Subsequent films showed him striking the dog, manipulating it harshly, tugging at its limbs, and placing a mug over its face.
The prosecutor informed the court that in the early hours of March 1 of that year, Leon Kramolis was recorded retrieving two knives from the kitchen.
Ms Pratt said: “As a result, there were concerns about the puppy and the defendant.
“The defendant appeared to be hiding the puppy. He left the property without it.
“When questioned, he appeared to be hiding it in his room.”
Staff called the police, who confirmed that the dog was alive inside his room.
Leon Kramolis was evicted and escorted out of the property the following day.
Ms Pratt said: “The puppy was concealed inside his coat. It didn’t appear to be moving and breathing correctly.
“When the defendant arrived at his mother’s home, he placed it in a dog bed.
“It appeared unwell and motionless. At this time, the mutilation was seen.
“It had no toenails left; they had been cut down to the quick and beyond.”
Police and the RSPCA were called, and the dog was taken to a vet in a comatose state.
Not only had the nails been cut too far down, but some of the toes had been completely severed.
The puppy had also developed septicaemia because of older injuries that had not been treated.
Bloodstained sheets were found back in Leon Kramolis’ room.
Ms Pratt added: “Sadly, this puppy was so unwell, permission was obtained to put it to sleep.”
Leon Kramolis did not explain the injuries, only to say he had been cutting the dog’s toenails.
Leon Kramolis was ordered to carry out 42 days of rehabilitation activity as part of his community order.
Leon Kramolis WILL NOT BE DEPORTED.
