Terence Green violated a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) for the third occasion by forming a friendship with two women in Middlesbrough, one of whom is a mother of four children.
The then 44-year-old, deemed “isolated,” had regular communication with the family from March 2018 until January of this year, although he concealed his conviction for possessing indecent photographs.
Terence Green received a suspended prison sentence at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday for the violation.
The court was informed that, as a registered sex offender, Terence Green is prohibited from contacting any female under the age of 16.
He was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) in November 2016 and violated it twice previously, once for erasing his internet browsing history.
The truth was ultimately disclosed when one of the women received a telephone call from Terence Green’s probation officer.
A probation report indicated that Terence Green was deemed “high risk” yet was “too ashamed and embarrassed to reveal his convictions” to the family.
Terence Green, residing on Avondale Close, Middlesbrough, Teeside, received a 26-week prison sentence, suspended for two years.
He was additionally mandated to complete 30 days of therapy and had to pay £200 in expenses.
