In 2019, the Offender Database reported that Choudhry Ikhalaq Hussain, the Pakistani Rochdale Paedophile Rapist, a convicted child sex offender, involved in a grooming gang that exploited and raped adolescent girls in Rochdale, was apprehended in Pakistan after fleeing to evade a 19-year prison sentence during his trial.
Choudhry Ikhalaq Hussain, then 41, was among a cohort of males of Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and Afghan descent who were incarcerated for the sexual exploitation of numerous girls, following an inquiry focused on the town of Rochdale, near Manchester.
The males seduced the girls with gifts and intoxicated them with booze and drugs before coercing them into sexual acts with others.
Choudhry Ikhalaq Hussain, residing on Mayfield Terrace, was granted permission to attend a family funeral in the UK when he absconded.
His apprehension results from a collaborative operation conducted by law enforcement agencies in the UK and Pakistan.
The majority of the incidents occurred between 2004 and 2008, with victims aged 13 to 23.
A teenage girl, assaulted by ten males, reported the incident to the authorities following the 2012 convictions of nine Asian offenders for grooming white girls in the area.
She stated that “hundreds” of older males would contact her seeking sexual encounters and that she had been groomed since the age of 14.
Choudhry Ikhalaq Hussain absconded during the trial but was subsequently convicted in 2016, in his absence, of multiple grave offences, including rape and sexual conduct with a minor.
