In 2018, the Offender Database reported that Adrian McBriar, the Helsby Paedophile Child Molester, then 52, was found guilty of attempting to engage in sexual activity with an 11-year-old girl.
Adrian McBriar was sentenced to 18 months in prison at Chester Crown Court today, November 16.
On January 18 of this year, McBriar, residing on Britannia Road, Cheshire, scheduled a meeting with an individual he believed to be an 11-year-old girl, intending to engage in sexual activity with her.
In December 2017, Adrian McBriar utilised social media sites to interact with what he perceived to be a 14-year-old girl.
Nevertheless, the individuals he had been conversing with were, in fact, law enforcement officials.
He was subsequently apprehended the day following his meeting with the 11-year-old, when law enforcement executed a warrant at his residence.
During the search of his residence, officers retrieved Adrian McBriar’s phone and laptop.
At his workplace, officers discovered a note with the postcode of the meeting location for the girl, with a ‘kit’ that police characterised as ‘deliberately assembled,’ which included baby wipes, a golf towel, condoms, and petroleum jelly.
Following interrogation, police officials released Adrian McBriar pending further investigation to collect evidence against him.
Seven months post-arrest, it was discovered that Adrian McBriar was utilising social media to engage in sexual communication with another individual posing as a ‘female.’
Adrian McBriar coordinated a meeting with a 13-year-old girl, who was, in fact, an undercover law enforcement officer.
The paedophile was apprehended once more and indicted on multiple charges.
Adrian McBriar admitted guilt to one charge of seeking to engage with an individual under the age of 16 for sexual enjoyment, three charges of sexual communication with a minor, two charges of creating indecent photos, and two charges of disseminating indecent images.
In addition to his 18-month prison sentence, Adrian McBriar was mandated to register as a sex offender for 10 years and was issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
