Paediatric radiologist Jonathan Bainbridge encountered the underage girl in an online chat room and exchanged obscene images with her, a court was informed.
The then 39-year-old subsequently travelled almost 180 miles from his residence in Cardiff to rendezvous with the adolescent, who enquired, “Do you promise you won’t harm me or abduct me?”
Jonathan Bainbridge initiated communication with her on the Kik messaging application, and she transmitted intimate images and videos of herself.
He thereafter drove to Mochdre, in Conwy, where he performed oral sex with the girl, whose identity is protected for legal reasons.
Jonathan Bainbridge, residing on Cathedral Road, Cardiff, received an 18-month community order, which includes a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement and a mandate to complete 250 hours of unpaid labour.
He was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order for five years and mandated to pay £1,200 in court costs.
