The Offender Database reported that Daniel Smith, the North Leigh Rapist Sex Offender, has been convicted of multiple sexual offences against a woman, including raping her while she was asleep.
After a jury trial at Swindon Crown Court, Daniel Smith, 45, of Ladywell Close, North Leigh, Oxfordshire, was found guilty of rape, sexual assault, and violating his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
He has been placed in detention and is scheduled to be sentenced in January.
On November 4, 2023, Daniel Smith sexually assaulted the victim, a lady in her 30s with whom he was acquainted, within a residence in Highworth while she was asleep.
On December 9, 2023, Daniel Smith once more assaulted the girl by entering her bed without consent and groping her.
The offences were reported to the police on December 18, 2023, and Daniel Smith was apprehended on the same day.
He was then charged with the charges and for violating the terms of his SHPO.
Daniel Smith entered a plea of not guilty to the charges, compelling the victim to recount the events during a jury trial, but he was convicted today.
