The Offender Database has reported that Andrew Cobb, the Bridgwater Paedophile and Child Molester, a 54-year-old man, has been incarcerated following the discovery by authorities of his attempts to communicate with minors for sexual purposes.
Andrew Cobb, residing on Monmouth Street in Bridgwater, was sentenced today (Friday, 14 November) at Taunton Crown Court, convened at North Somerset Courthouse, to a term of six years and seven months in jail. He was also subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
The statement follows Andrew Cobb’s guilty plea to 15 charges, including the creation of indecent photographs of a minor, participating in sexual communications with a minor, and enticing a minor to participate in sexual activities.
In April 2023, the court was informed that Andrew Cobb had been communicating online with an individual he presumed to be a 13-year-old girl.
He was apprehended in June 2023, and multiple electronic devices were confiscated, revealing the full scope of his illicit activities.
The investigation revealed multiple ongoing, coercive dialogues with a minimum of nine minors, encompassing solicitations for photographs and chats of sexual conduct.
In other instances, it was discovered that he had instigated the dialogue and endeavoured to cultivate trust and preserve confidentiality, frequently characterising the exchanges as a private partnership or mentorship.
The court was informed that Andrew Cobb had previously perpetrated analogous acts in 2011 and had been mandated to register as a sex offender for a duration of 10 years, concluding in 2021, before his new transgressions.
