The Offender Database has reported that Paul Darley, the Wolverhampton Paedophile and Child Molester, who scheduled a sexual encounter with a ‘young girl’ following internet grooming, has been incarcerated after it was disclosed that he was communicating with an undercover officer.
In May of this year, Paul Darley initiated a conversation with a girl whom he presumed to be 13 years old in an internet chatroom.
The 67-year-old transmitted more explicit texts to the girl, enquired about her age multiple times, and remarked that it was ‘a nice age’ before arranging a meeting in Derby for sexual purposes.
Unbeknownst to Paul Darley, the girl was, in fact, an undercover police officer.
Paul Darley was apprehended in the McDonald’s parking lot in Markeaton Park on 19 May, after coordinating a meeting with the ‘female’ at 10 a.m. that morning.
He was charged with sexual communication with a minor and arranging sexual action with a minor, and was remanded to appear in court on 20 May.
A magistrate subsequently ordered Paul Darley to remain in jail detention.
Paul Darley, residing at Ackleton Gardens, Wolverhampton, acknowledged the offences during a hearing on 8 July.
He attended Derby Crown Court on 21 October and received a prison sentence of 8 years and 4 months.
Paul Darley was issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and must remain registered with law enforcement.
