The Offender Database has reported that Alexander Olas, a ‘savage’ Scunthorpe paedophile child molester who sexually exploited, groomed, and assaulted a 15-year-old girl over several months, has been sentenced to six years and four months in prison, received a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life after his appearance at Grimsby Crown Court last week.
Alexander Olas, 23, of Lilac Avenue in Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a minor, actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, and witness intimidation after a prior court hearing.
In September 2022, we received a call from a concerned parent who reported that her 15-year-old daughter had been taken to a hotel in Scunthorpe by an older guy.
Officers arrived and conversed with the hotel staff, uncovering the presence of a 15-year-old girl and a man subsequently identified as Alexander Olas.
A collaborative inquiry involving law enforcement and Child Services was promptly initiated, during which officers visited the teenage girl’s residence to gather evidence about the offences.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the girl had encountered Alexander Olas on a social media platform after he reached out to her in August 2022. It soon became evident that Olas had transported her to various hotels in Scunthorpe on multiple occasions, reserving the rooms under different aliases each time to obscure his genuine identity.
Officers promptly mobilised to execute arrest attempts for Alexander Olas; however, in an effort to elude capture, he concealed himself and was subsequently designated as wanted.
Alexander Olas was discovered and arrested in January 2023 for engaging in sexual activity with a minor, and his mobile phone was confiscated before being granted conditional bail, awaiting further investigation.
The Digital Forensics Unit commenced an analysis of Alexander Olas’ phone, uncovering several conversations on various social media sites exchanged between him and a female he recognised as merely an adolescent.
He was subsequently detained on accusations of engaging in sexual conduct with a minor in September, and did not comply with his bail conditions in October 2023.
In November 2023, Alexander Olas was re-arrested to address the findings of the phone analysis and the significant testimonies from witnesses and victims involved in the intricate inquiry. He refrained from commenting on any questions posed to him and was granted bail once more under specific restrictions.
Several days later, the girl reported receiving a phone call from an unidentified number, and she identified the voice on the line as belonging to Alexander Olas. He allegedly threatened her by telephone, and Alexander Olas was subsequently apprehended on suspicion of witness intimidation.
