In 2022, Ian Worthington, the Staffordshire Paedophile and Sex Offender, a manager, was sentenced to eight years in prison for posting photographs online depicting the sexual assault of a child.
Investigators tracked many images created by Ian Worthington, 52, to a device owned by an Australian sex offender, who was sentenced to 22 years in prison in 2015.
Ian Worthington was apprehended in November 2020 after National Crime Agency officers determined that he had uploaded child sexual abuse material to the dark web from his residence near Cannock.
The officers searched his residence and confiscated numerous gadgets, including a phone and a laptop, which were subsequently subjected to forensic examination.
Ian Worthington utilised several dark web hidden service forums to maintain the anonymity of his activities.
Investigators retrieved 20,500 IIOC across categories A-C, with category A being the most severe offences, from his devices.
Included were 135 Category B and 140 Category C photographs of a kid being sexually molested by Ian Worthington, together with evidence indicating their distribution to other paedophiles online.
Ian Worthington was indicted on one allegation of sexual assault of a child under 13 through touching, three charges of producing indecent images of children (spanning categories A-C), and two counts of disseminating category B and C indecent images of children.
He admitted guilt to all charges at Stafford Crown Court on 20 May of this year and was sentenced to eight years and eight months at the same court on 6 July.
