Michael John Worton (born 30 December 1951), a Swinton Paedophile and Sex Offender, residing at Moss Colliery Road, Swinton, has received a three-year jail term and a further three years on licence after a jury found him guilty of 16 offences at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Tuesday, 4 November 2025. He has been permanently registered on the Sex Offenders Register.

The conviction is based on testimonies from five brave victim-survivors who reported the abuse they endured as youngsters in the 1970s and 1980s, during which time Michael John Worton was employed on a farm and in a children’s home.

These individuals have carried the anguish of their experiences into adulthood and have demonstrated remarkable courage in their pursuit of justice for Michael John Worton.

The investigation disclosed that Michael John Worton exploited his position of trust to prey upon vulnerable children in environments where they ought to have felt secure.
