PC Ryan Busby, a Sussex Police Sex Offender, has been punished in court after pleading guilty to four counts of sexual assault by touching.
Former Police Constable Ryan Busby, 26, was sentenced at Staines Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 7 November, after pleading guilty to the charges during his initial court appearance on 8 July.
He received an 18-month community order, 25 rehabilitation days, 90 days of alcohol abstinence monitoring, and was mandated to complete 200 hours of unpaid labour.
The court was informed that the offences transpired on 20 December 2024 during a social gathering, involving four ladies acquainted with Busby, when he was off duty.
Upon the reporting of the offences, the case was forwarded to the Independent Office of Police Conduct, which mandated a local investigation by the Professional Standards Department of the force.
After this inquiry, the Crown Prosecution Service sanctioned charges against Busby.
Ryan Busby was suspended from his position and subsequently resigned on August 19, 2024.
