In 2022, Maxwell Shelbourne, the Underwood Rapist and Sex Offender, who attempted to sexually assault a woman while she was walking home sexually sexually, was incarcerated.

Derbyshire Police reported that Maxwell Shelbourne sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to rape her when she was walking down Cromford Road in Langley Mill on January 16.

The 22-year-old, previously residing on Alfreton Road, Underwood, pleaded guilty to attempted rape, sexual assault, and sexual touching.

Maxwell Shelbourne was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison at Derby Crown Court on 24 June.

The police reported that Shelbourne requested a cigarette from the woman before attempting to embrace and kiss her, and despite her refusal, he persisted in offering to escort her home.

Maxwell Shelbourne apprehended the woman once more, and despite her resistance, he sexually attacked and attempted to rape her.

The woman ultimately succeeded in reaching home, according to the authorities.

The incidents occurred while the woman traversed Cromford Road in Langley Mill.

Maxwell Shelbourne was identified via a public appeal.

At his sentencing, Maxwell Shelbourne was permanently registered as a sex offender and issued an indefinite restraining order prohibiting contact with the victim.
