In 2022, Kyle Pugh, the Chelmsley Wood Rapist and Sex Offender, who systematically assaulted a teenage girl for four years, was incarcerated.
Kyle Pugh inflicted years of coercive control, along with physical and sexual attacks, on the girl, who is now 18 years old.
He exerted control over the victim, prescribing her attire and prohibiting her from using makeup. He frequently abused her by yanking her hair and biting her.
The then 19-year-old verbally assaulted the girl on multiple occasions. On one occasion, Kyle Pugh struck her in the knees with a hoover; on another occasion, he assaulted her with a game controller.
Acquaintances and relatives observed injuries on the girl, including contusions and, on one occasion, a periorbital haematoma; however, she attributed them to a collision with a lamppost and described herself as clumsy to conceal her injuries.
‘You think you will come out of this alive?’ – rapist’s threats.
Kyle Pugh stopped the girl from reporting the abuse to police by threatening to kill her, once telling her: “You think you will come out of this alive?”.
He would continually check the girl’s phone and social media. The aggressive scrutiny and control made her fearful of seeking help.
But the girl built up the courage to report the ordeal and came forward to officers in December 2021.
Kyle Pugh, of Chelmsley Wood, was jailed for 13 years at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday, July 8, after being found guilty of three counts of rape, sexual assault, making a threat to kill and coercive control.
Kyle Pugh was also found guilty of two counts of actual bodily harm and putting a person in fear of violence by harassment.
